Samuel's t-shirt quilt
While in Iowa this past holiday season, I agreed to take on an unfinished quilt project for my dear friend Samuel. The project was started about 11 years ago, with another quilter cutting all the shirts into 12.5" squares and backing each square with interfacing. I promised that I would do my best to take less than 11 years to finish the project, other than that, I had no time constraints.
Of course with no baby quilt even started, the babe on board to arrive in early March, and a to-do list a mile long, Samuel's quilt jumped to the top of my list. The top went together in in about 45 minutes.
Samuel chose royal purple as the backing color, as (don't laugh) royal purple was the color of our high school mime bow ties.
Crumpet and I pinned the quilt the other day. The process left me fantasizing about my future studio space with wood floors and doors that shut to keep kitties and other "helpers" out when they might not be so helpful.
The finished quilt is now on its way to NYC, to wrap sweet Samuel in memories and to keep him cozy during this very chilly and snowy winter.

Next up, craft room cleaning and project finishing. I am really hoping to maximize on my nesting urges to do some serious crafting!

Projects

The two projects in my que right now are the Lacy Baktus and the above bird baby quilt. The baby quilt has been a joint effort between P and I, but I am now on my own as sweet P has declared that he does not have the patience for hand sewing on the binding.

Homemade marshmallows are delicious
In between bites of chocolate covered homemade marshmallows and dealing with serious cat assistance, P and I managed to get a bit of work done on J&B's baby quilt.
The request: yellow, red(ish), brown and green baby quilt that somehow includes birds.

Also, P's Fireside Booties finally felted to the proper size. The fit him like a dream, and look super cute too!
