Owl baby quilt

This baby quilt was made for a friend in Denver. The original plan was to teach a friend to sew while making this quilt, thus the simple single nine patch. I ended up sewing the entire thing (silly life & busy schedules got in the way).

Olympic knitting

These are the two projects that have been on and off the needles lately. The Jaywalker socks were a bit of a pill to get started, but that was due more to my own lack of research, rather than any problem with the pattern.
The Unoriginal Hat came from my Sticks 'n' Stitches raffle win of 1 skein of Rowan Big Wool.

Packing

We are headed up to the mountains this weekend. I started packing just now and this is the "to go" pile I have started.
No, not clothes, skis, cat food, or a warm winter jacket. Instead, the first priority packing for our weekend away includes the bird quilt and thread for finishing the binding, my newest knitting project, another WIP knitting project that I am thinking of tearing apart, my favorite vegetarian cookbook of the moment, and a intro book on machine quilting. Yes, the important items have been taken care of. The cat, the husband, food, clothing, and other weekend away bits and pieces I am sure will also make it into the Passat before we take off, they always do.

Gifts

One more Amy Butler coin purse came together for a certain someone's 8th birthday. I hope she will like it.A favorite Christmas gift of mine this year was the box of goodies we received from Hillary Jean. This lunch sack with sushi embroidery (!!!) on it came with fabric napkins, a cute cat bowl for Crumpet, and some other fun things. The package was totally unexpected, and the contents were nearly 100% hand made, which made it a super sweet surprise.
